I Am Awake

She tells herself as she
Hears her alarm clock.
Beep! Beep! Beep!!!

I am awake. I am awake!
As she slips out of her
Covers and feels the cold air
From her air conditioning.

I am awake. I am awake.
As she grabs her clothes
And heads towards the bathroom
Dragging her feet on the cold floor.

I am awake. I am awake.
As she leans on the
Bathroom sink waiting
For it to fill up with cold water.

She puts her hands in
The water and splashed it on her face.
I am awake.
Her eyes completely open!
